The record from every exam is logged into our census sheet.
We have the capability of radiographing almost any sick pet. We have particular expertise at radiography in unusual or highly sensitive animals. Our x-ray machine allows a very precise image of your pet's internal organs with negligible amounts of radiation. All radiation is continuously monitored. Every 3 years our machine is inspected by the state of Pennsylvania to ensure no danger to your pet or our staff. In addition, our staff wears protective lead shields and badges that monitor radiation exposure.
Our surgery room is equipped with state-of-the-art monitoring and surgical equipment. A very important part of surgery is anesthesia. We use a pulse oximeter, an instrument that closely monitors anesthesia and gives us a wide safety margin. The goals of anesthesia are to minimize anxiety and eliminate pain. The lack of significant complications from anesthesia is due to a combination of expertise, thorough pre-anesthetic testing, and modern anesthetic and monitoring equipment. We are equipped to anesthetize any pet within the weight range of 15 grams to several hundred pounds. Click for a list of the surgeries we perform.
Our laboratory has the capability to perform diagnostic tests on your pet's blood. This is particularly useful for pre-anesthetic blood panels and emergencies, where it is crucial to obtain the results immediately. Click for more information on our laboratory services.
